Mini Vinnies

We are a Mini Vinnies School

We are very proud of the work our pupils carry out as part of the Mini Vinnies and so we wanted to create this page to showcase some of our wonderful stories.

Our Mini Vinnies were commissioned by Fr Eustace and have lots of ideas to develop Catholic Social Teaching in our school.  We hope you enjoy reading them.

  • Feast Of Our Lady of Lourdes

As part of our Catholic Social Teaching the Mini Vinnies have been celebrating the Feast Of Our Lady of Lourdes. To spread kindness and hope the Mini Vinnies designed and sent ‘Candles of Hope’ to Keech. Keech is a wonderful local hospice which helps people in their time of need. The Mini Vinnies received a wonderful response from Keech thanking them for their thoughts and prayers.

  • Mini Vinnies Assembly

Mini Vinnies local co-ordinators Warren Edwards and Kath Greenwood shared a wonderful assembly celebrating all of the fantastic hard work and good deeds carried out by the Mini Vinnies throughout the Diocese. We heard how Mini Vinnies are making a difference and bringing joy and hope to all they meet. It was also an opportunity for the Mini Vinnies of St Margaret’s to share all their hard work and celebrate their achievements both within our school and with our neighbours. The Mini Vinnies work extremely hard upholding our Catholic Social Teaching by putting our Catholic beliefs into action within our wider community.

  • Spreading Christmas Cheer

On Wednesday, our fantastic Mini Vinnies were out in our local community once again. This time they were delivering Christmas cards and spreading Christmas cheer to our neighbours. It was lovely to be able to wish people a Merry Christmas and for them to know that everyone at St Margarets is thinking of them at this festive time. We were also lucky enough to bump into our lovely Community Police Officer and let her know how much we appreciate the hard work she does for our community.

  • Anti Bullying Week

As part of our Anti Bullying Week, our wonderful Mini Vinnies have been hard at work during breaktimes and lunchtimes spreading kindness across our school. The Mini Vinnies have been a support for any child in need, a helping hand for our younger children, or just someone to play with during our breaktimes.

Well done to all the Mini Vinnies – what a fantastic job you have done!

  • Green Fingered

As part of the National Community Garden Week, the Mini Vinnies have been hard at work tidying our outside areas around the school. Trowels in hand, they have rejuvenated our outdoor garden by removing all the weeds and giving it a general tidy up. The next step is to plant some new flowers and even grow our own vegetables! Mini Vinnies are continually reminding us of the teachings of Pope Francis, that we should all continually be looking after Gods creation.
