Rosary Club
1st October 2024
To mark October as being the month dedicated to our Lady, Judy Weekes, from The Legion of Mary, visited our school to deliver a very generous gift of a set of rosary beads for each child.
She then took part in a training session of how to deliver a decade of the rosary with our Faith Ambassadors.
wintershall trip
Wednesday 19th June 2024
Some of our Faith Ambassadors joined together with the Faith Ambassadors in the other schools in the Trust to visit Wintershall, where they experienced an open air re-enactment of the Life of Christ.
It was a beautiful day and the children were immersed into the story as ‘the crowd’ in the Feeding of the 5000, along with the trial of Jesus. They broke bread together with all the visiting schools and had an opportunity to really engage with the emotion of the situation.
See if you can work out the Scripture from the clues in the photos!
First Holy Communion Celebration Mass
Wednesday 12th June 2024
Today, Fr Eustace came to school to celebrate mass with all those who have made their First Holy Communion this year. Their families and Year 3 joined them for this special celebration.
May God bless each of these children as they continue to grow closer to Him on their faith journey.
May – the Month of Our Lady
We had a special assembly to crown our Lady as Queen of the May and Queen of Heaven. Our Faith Ambassadors processed with her and crowned her with flowers.
rosary club
Legion of Mary representative Judith came to school to help us run our Rosary Club through the month of May.
LEGION OF MARY
We were delighted to receive some visitors from the Legion of Mary, a Catholic group who dedicate themselves to sharing the joy of the Holy Rosary with each other and children in our Catholic schools.
They shared the origins of the Rosary with the children in an assembly and retold the message from Mary regarding the three things to focus on in life:
Belief in God; belief in Redemption (the death and Resurrection of our Lord resulting in the saving of humanity from sin); and eternal life.
Mary, the mother of God, appeared to St Dominic in a vision, told him these things and commanded that the three prayers of the Rosary (the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Glory Be) be said regularly.
The Legion of Mary have kindly donated a set of Rosary beads to each pupil in Year 2 so that they may use them during the year in preparation for their First Holy Communion.
Mary, one of the representatives from the group commented, “The children in this school are wonderful. They are so quiet, attentive and respectful – it has been a joy to come here.”
Harvest Appeal 2023
This year we are collecting items to support our local Catholic charity for the homeless, Noah Enterprise. Shannon from Noah, visited our school to share the important work they do with our pupils. Our challenge is to fill the steps of the Key Stage 2 hall with donations.
